Splash of water

Water forces its way through the cracks and just keeps going..

Manzanita tree

Toward the end of the trail 305 by Lynx Lake you'll see this colorful trunk of a manzanita tree. It is a nice reward after riding the mountain bike for a few miles seeing the greens and browns of the forest. This spring ought to be quite exciting for photos with all the moisture we have had so far. I can hardly wait to see the blooms.

Eagle

He is looking at his territory...and keeping his eye on us at the same time. The most awesome of all birds.

Oak branch

Oak trees are common in our altitude. This oak branch has a little frost on it.

Again another Storm

Well, this year has started out right with moisture to say the least. We are having another storm here in Prescott and the nature is soaking it all in.

Alpacca's

One of my neighbors raises these alpacas for wool. They just hang out and enjoy Prescott life.

Road through Mountains

Road travels through the mountains. A very typical sight in Arizona. Imagine the hard work that went to build the roads though - Ugh! "Then man goes out to his work, to his labor until evening." (Psalms 104:23)

Drops on a branch

After a storm, moisture drops decorate even the smallest of branches. "...refresh those who become exhausted in the desert.." (2 Samuel 16:2)

Damn

Lynx Lake upper damn. "Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it." (Psalms 34:14)

Reflections

Calm weather shows the reflection of the forest along the water. "As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man." (Proverbs 27:19)

Happy Valentine's

For all people we wish a Happy Valentine's Day, Happy Friendship Day and just a Happy Day. "Two are better than one,

Fly-By

Crane flies by a tree which is loaded with spectators. By the way, I am just horrified after the Georgian Olympian crashed in the training ride and died. The people who designed the hill must be a little sadistic. Where were the high walls from that section so that his life possibly could have been spared? "Is there anything of which one can say,
"Look! This is something new?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time."

DayWalk

Usually we see these little guys late at night, but maybe the cooler weather has forced the fellow to look for food during the day as well."As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease." (Genesis 8:22)

Defending Territory

An eagle is chasing away a hawk who happens to be in the eagle's territory. This happened right above our heads. The eagle came out of nowhere and was determined to chase the uninvited guest away. "...Act with courage.." (2 Chronicles 19:11)

An Old Dalmation

He is still a happy dog, going out for a walk. The old age does not seem to bother him one bit. "Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall..." (Isaiah 40:30)

Synchronized swimming ala Duck

They pop into the water looking for food... the little feathery butts up in the air are fun. Poop!! Poop! Poopsy Poop! I really doubt that these mallards have any idea how much fun I have had at their expense...but I'm sure they'll forgive me."...and let the birds increase on the earth." (Genesis 1:22)

Tree by water

Melting snow dropping into the water from the tree's branches. The stark contrast between the snowy background and the dark branches. "The waters nourished it, deep springs made it grow tall; their streams flowed all around its base..." (Ezekiel 31:4)

New Boots

So finally my husband is hiking with new boots on. For longer hikes it is important to have comfortable shoes.. your toes and bunions will later let you know. I guarantee. "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." (Psalms 119:105)

Going Across

Our Lakes are so full that we had to get creative on our hike around the lake to get across. What normally is a trail, now is washed out by water. "'Be careful, keep calm and don't be afraid." (Isaiah 7:4)

Conflict

Water crashes against rocks along Lynx Lake Creek. As the snow continues to melt at the higher elevations, our creeks and brooks continue to flow. "He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains." (Psalms 104:10)

Water - again

I'll never get tired of looking at water.. after living here so many years and experiencing real drought at times. Water is a real luxury. "It was you who opened up springs and streams; you dried up the ever flowing rivers." (Psalms 74:15)

In the Balance

Some branches are caught up in the flow. I just love the nature after rain. "You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in." (Romans 11:19)

Overflowing damn

Damn is overflowing due to the abundance of rain and melting snow. "
Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity." (2 Corinthians 8:2)

Streams after Storm

We have abundance of streams now after the storms..and I am loving it. "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God." (Psalms 42:1)
