Beautiful Manzanita

I am fortunate to see these awesome brushes along the trails. This time of year the manzanita is in full bloom and they are simply the crown the forest.

Walking along a lake trail

This what happens when your camera exposure settings are adjusted according to the background light: your subject becomes a silhoutte. It was a semi mistake on my part, yet I like the results.

Going Across

Our Lakes are so full that we had to get creative on our hike around the lake to get across. What normally is a trail, now is washed out by water. "'Be careful, keep calm and don't be afraid." (Isaiah 7:4)

Old Fence Behind Spruce Mountain

If you are hiking behind along the 307 trail, eventually you'll run into this old log fence. And if you are riding a mountain bike, you'll get off and "wiggle" your way through a small opening ... I love to see the fence - everytime I ride. It is a reference point for me to let me know that I have reached a point and it gives me an idea how much more I have left to ride. I cannot even imagine as to why this fence was first put in place there? Cattle on top of the Spruce Mountain? At around 8000 feet? I don't know. Nowaydas, this trail is a well traveled trail. Lots of hikers, bikers and even the horseback riders frequent the trail. Check it out!

The Trail of 305

This is one of my favorite mountain bike trails. The great 305. The trail starts with quite fast paced curves - small hills and then has couple of steeper climbs that are rewarding. To see the hill climb up ahead gives me the feeling as if the trail was smiling!
