I am fortunate to see these awesome brushes along the trails. This time of year the manzanita is in full bloom and they are simply the crown the forest.

Trunk of Manzanita

The nice orangegy color of this manzanita tree trunk caught my eye. Sun hit it just right.

Toward the end of the trail 305 by Lynx Lake you'll see this colorful trunk of a manzanita tree. It is a nice reward after riding the mountain bike for a few miles seeing the greens and browns of the forest. This spring ought to be quite exciting for photos with all the moisture we have had so far. I can hardly wait to see the blooms.

This is what a Manzanita tree looks after it has lost all its reds and fresh greens. It is still a very curious looking creation with its curly limbs.
