Today was a very cold day here in Prescott. Regardless, the downtown Christmas tree brought its warmth of the season though.

I just could not get over how well the camera captured the "stars" off the water, so I decided to make it quadtone, which complements the glimmer.

This is one of my favorite spots behind Spruce Mountain off Spruce Trail. Love this old fence. It always makes me get off my mountain bike - stop a while - and just enjoy. Thank you old fence. You are there for a real purpose!

Doves are cool. Their curiousity combined with their shyness makes them irrisistable, and their "who- whoo" song tops it all. I decided to mock their singing and got their attention for a moment...

Sunflowers and some more

So - my husband and I rode mountain bikes by the Granite Mountain area early this morning and we noticed all these sunflowers everywhere. The recent heavy rain had eaten up quite a few gruves into the trails, but the sunflowers did not seem to mind. What a nice season for wildflowers in Prescott this year.

September morning

So - the fall is here and I look at some of my flowers that grew this year. Some made it and some did not. It has been challenging to learn about the demands of the nature here in Prescott. This summer has been great though with abundant rain. So - here is one of my flowers that is a late bloomer and simply delightful.

This weekend has been fantastic weather-wise. We've enjoyed a nice soft breeze with a little bit of rain. Watson Lake looks nice with clouds.

Prescott Wild Flowers after the rain

We have had a wonderful "monsoon" season this year. Good rain brings a great crop of vegetation and we witnessed it this morning riding the trail 305 on our mountain bikes. Here's some delicate blue flowers that simply caught my eye.

Mr. Horny Toad

This fella hangs out at our yard. It really is a cool little creature. Whenever I am watering the plants and I happen to spot him, I also give him a little "rain." I don't know if he likes it or not, but at least it makes me feel good.

One of my neighbors has managed to grow some nice big sunflowers this year. Early this morning (around 5am), my husband and I, took a walk and admired their flowers.

Dinosaurs in Prescott

Driving along the Iron Springs Road one cannot help but noticing these monsterous yard "ornaments" - if that is what you call them. The owner says they do not need much care, no vet bills, no yard clean up- great pets! Arizona Dinos! The owner has quite a collection of them as you will be seeing the next few days. He and his wife graciously allowed us in their wild west kingdom to take some pictures.

Reflections

I spotted this play of tall grass reflections off the shore of Lynx Lake. I was staring at it for a while and got lost in it - could not figure outwhere it ended nor where it began.
