On the Road to Mt. Union

I love this road. I've been on it riding the mountain bike for "umpthieth" times. Mt. Union is the highest point in the Prescott area Bradshaw Mountains - 7979 feet (2432 meters) - It is a bit of a steady grind on the bike to ride to the top, but it is one of those grinds that is surely rewarding. They say "no pain - no gain" - well, I suppose I need to pay my gratitude to this mountain road with all its switchbacks for all the gains it has given me: gracias Mt. Union!! Thumb Butte from a Different Angle

One great advantage of being a mountain biker is that you get to see the backcountry and the awesome views therein. Here is Thumb Butte from "behind." In order to see it from this angle you must find the trail that takes you around a bend and Lo Behold - your eyes are wandering about the scenery rather than focusing on the trail itself. This is a panorama shot, which works great for the mountain range.(If you click on the picture, you'll see an enlarged version of the picture)

At the Skate Park

These kids have heart. They ride their bikes and skateboards in this concrete park. And boy, some of them have No Fear. But even the best of them need a little break ("brake") now and then. Live a little - Dare to live!

Wall

This is a wall by a restaurant off Cortez street. Little metal lizards are climbing on the wall indicating that here is restaurant called "Lyzzards." Metal art is quite common in this part of the world, some people like to decorate their yards with them.

Cortez Street

Walking along Cortez Street downtown, you cannot help but notice the old western style buildings in the corner of Cortez and Gurley street. These are the masonic temple and the old bank building. Definitely possess the western flare.

Downtown

Back to downtown in Prescott. Here is a window of an antique store. What I really like about this picture is the reds in the store items and the reflections of the courthouse plaza against the window with its trees and the massive courthouse. This is right off the Gurley street by Bashford Courts Mall.
