Through the trees

At the lake again, having fun with the shadows of trees.
"Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings" Psalms 17:8

Aspen trees - another angle

These aspen trees truly are tall. They are reaching high in unison creating a nice symposium and a haven for birds to rest. "For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies." (Psalms 57:10)

Up behind Copper Basin there is a group of Aspen trees that stand tall. The elevation and other conditions seem to be just right for them there..."The waters nourished it, deep springs made it grow tall; their streams flowed all around its base and sent their channels to all the trees of the field." (Ezekiel 31:4)

Unusual day at the Lake

Having the clouds in the background is like having a chorus singing a song.."And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground — trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food." (Genesis 2:9)

And so Does the Water Flow

Never ceasing to amaze at the beauty of a flowing brook after a storm calms down... "As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater.." (Isaiah 55:10)

So - now our streams are flowing and will continue to flow for awhile as the snow melts off the mountains. "He draws up the drops of water, which distill as rain to the streams.." Job 36:27

Snow

After the recent big storm our mountains are covered with snow.
"He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes." Psalms 147:16

Storm is moving in

The storm of the decade has been visiting our neighborhood. "I would hurry to my place of shelter,far from the tempest and storm.Confuse the wicked, O Lord, confound their speech, for I see violence and strife in the city." Psalms 55:8-9

Shadows of trees against snow. "If you come across a bird's nest beside the road, either in a tree or on the ground, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, do not take the mother with the young." (Deuteronomy 22:6)

The views in Prescott at times are - needless to say - inspiring... How many mountains do you think you can climb in a day? HAH! Make sure you got plenty of water with you.

Always something

It doesn't matter what you do in life there is always something..just admit nobody's perfect. I know I definitely am not. Just as you think you got the trail all figured out there is another new bird staring right at you. You need to decide whether it is a friend or a foe?

New Week

It is a new week. I sure hope and pray that the people in Haiti are getting expeditious care. I'll do what I can.. Life can be overwhelming sometimes.

Track

This animal track is from a high elevation in a very rural area where there were no human tracks around and there are lots of deer. My guess is it is a track of a mountain lion, (also called cougar, puma, catamount, and panther) which is the largest cat native to North America. It looked like it had jumped off the bank of the snow unto the dirt, which would explain the claw marks as well.

Golden Eye

He is the "James Bond" of the birds.. although the mallards consider him to be a real underdog. This morning as I walked along the shore it looked as if the bird was patrolling - he was cruising back and forth checking me out as I was taking pics of him. I had a bag of cracked corn with me so I told him "come on lets go" ..and as I walked along the shore and kept glancing behind me: this Golden Eye was following me and had recruited a female mallard with him as well.

Rocks and Clouds

Clouds are quite rare here in AZ. So, when they appear I like to take advantage of them and celebrate them. Rocks, on the other hand, are common...but not in order..
